The demand for power in modern motorcycles and ATVs is increasing today with the use of additional electronic modules such as injection system, high-efficiency lighting, numerous accessories, etc. More and more. This means that a large amount of power from the generator and the SCR shunt regulator will not be able to control it. The main reason is low power efficiency, internal losses of the controller cause overheating and premature damage when currents above 35A are routed through the controller. As a result, SCR technology has reached a limit and is therefore not recommended for large vehicles with high energy consumption.
